What We Believe
White Plains Baptist Church is a community of believers abiding in Jesus who have joined together in our worship and service to God, to encourage and strengthen one another, and to carry the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world. We come from many different social, economic and faith backgrounds, but what we share in common is an unwavering commitment to the reality of Jesus. We truely love God, and are trying to become all that He wants us to be.
In essential beliefs we have unity.
“There is one Body and one Spirit, there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all” Ephesians 4:4-6
In non-essential beliefs we have liberty.
1 Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. 4 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. 22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. Romans 14: 1,4,12,22
In all our beliefs we show love.
“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”
